Lexington Landfill

We proudly serve Lexington County by providing preventative maintenance, as well as emergency repairs, on their large transfer stations within the land fill. In these handful of photos to the right you can see some of employees hard at work. On this particular job, we had to rebuild a corner section of the hopper wall. This small section had taken severe damage leaving a gaping hole in the wall. In order to fix this we cut and shaped two pieces 1/2" plate to fit the gap.  Another part of this project required us to replace the plywood along the entire transfer stations wall (as shown in the last 3 pictures).

One of our next big projects inside the Lexington County landfill took us to their newest transfer station they are currently working on opening up, as of June 2020. During the construction of this new station, a new design for the hoppers was implemented. Unfortunately, the new system caused waste and debris to fall around the dump trucks bins instead of inside them, while they were being loaded. Our company was called in to provide a fast, reliable, and cost efficient repair. We are currently halfway through this project as of June 2020 and look forward to seeing it through.

The slide show shows a push wall we fabricated and installed inside their new transfer station. The frame was made with 1/2" thick angle iron. The face plate on the wall was 3/4" thick. The top plate we laid down was a 1/4" thick. This plate was a design modification done by us personally. Typically the landfill only lays plywood at the top of the wall but this plate is definitely going to outlast that.

On this particular project we were raising the floor on the chute inside of their old transfer station. They had just poured a new concrete floor causing the chute to be 6" lower. We raised it using I beams and plated the floor with 1" thick plate. Plug welds were ran down the whole expanse at set intervals. Was a great opportunity.
